Wedding Party

We want to thank all of these amazing people for all that they did to make our wedding day awesome!  It was everything we had dreamed of and have so many wonderful memories from that day :)

Sarah’s Attendants

Matron of Honor: Rachel Goelz (Robinette)

Rachel and I met in High School.  We became best friends our sophomore year while in cheerleading together.  We got our drivers licenses together, went to all the school dances 2010-05-22_066900-resizetogether, always roomed together at sleep away events, went skydiving for the first time together, and now coach cheerleading together.  We can be so silly, yet have some of life’s deepest conversations together.  She’s always been such a thoughtful, positive person in my life!

Bridesmaid: Rebekah Zemple

Becky and I met a couple of weeks after Bob and I started dating.  She was determined to not like me, but I quickly won her over!  A few months later, after she started college at Madison, we even decided to live together my senior yer, her sophomore year.  We are so close that people assume I met Bob thru her, not the other way around.  I started considering her my sister a long time before Bob proposed.  She is one of the most interesting people I know, and I’m so lucky to have her in my life!!

Bridesmaid: Stacie Cherubini

Stacie and I met in High School. We were kind of friends freshman year, but drifted apart even though we had about 95% of our classes together every year. We reconnected the year after I graduated college and moved back to Milwaukee. She found out I was in town, called me up, and we took a road trip to Iowa together shortly after. When she picked me up, that was the first time we saw each other in over 4 years. Luckily we had a good time and have been hanging out ever since. She is the most creative person I know and is constantly making me laugh!

Bridesmaid: Tabetha Memmel (Bennett)

Tabetha was my very first friend. She is 1 year older than I am, so I have never known life without her. We grew up next to each other and were attached at the hip! She gave me one of my first haircuts when we were little. I’ve had so much fun going thru all of life’s changes with her. It’s hard to imagine that the girl I would play Barbies with when we were toddlers would stay one of my best friends when we are adults. She is someone who I know I can depend on to be there for me for the rest of our lives, no matter what!

Bridesmaid: Jennifer McGraw (Josephson)

Jen and I met while working in adjacent labs at MCW. We became fast friends. She’s only been in my life for a couple years, but it feels like so much more than that. She started dating her fiancé around the same time Bob and I started dating and got engaged about 6 months before Bob and I did. It’s been fun to go thru the wedding planning process together! Jen always gives great advice and would drop anything in her life in a heartbeat to help a friend in need!

Bridesmaid: Erica Schmitt (Treslley)

Erica and I met when we started in the same research lab our junior year of college. We shared a bench, cut and sorted seeds together, and hoed the field in the scorching August heat. Thru all of that we became good friends. We even sat together at our college graduation ceremony. She started med school at MCW the same time I started my lab job there. After 2 years we coincidentally ended up working in adjacent labs. Life keeps bringing us together! She is one of the smartest and most caring people I know!

Bridesmaid: Lauren Knudson

Lauren is my only female cousin (by blood). She’s 4 years younger than me and I always treated her as my life sized doll to dress up and have fun with! As we have grown up I’ve loved knowing her more as my friend than just a cousin. She is one of the sweetest, most compassionate people I know!

Bob’s Attendants

Best Man: James Spencer

“Hi, my name is Jim Spencer and I am from Spencer, WI.”  This is how I met Jim my first day of medical school.  It was his bright red hair and incredibly similar personality that SONY DSCimmediately brought us to become great friends.  Jim does not hesitate to go out of his way for someone else (including routinely lending me his motorcycle, haha) , regardless of what he’s doing, and especially if it involves cooking or brewing beer—he is the best male chef I know!!  I know I can always count on Jim when I stumble, whether in school, life, or on State Street!!

Groomsman: Benjamin Zemple

Brothers.  There is something special that connects most brothers, and with Ben, I am fortunate to feel that a little stronger than most.  Growing up we had our differences, but I am ben-new900-resizeproud to say that although we may not see each other for months at a time, when I do make it home, things pick up as if I never left.  Some of my favorite times with my little brother are spent out by the horseshoe pit in the backyard, working on a project for dad, or out in the woods tracking one of his almost perfectly shot deer!!

Groomsman: Nicholas Askey

Day 1 of college involved moving into the dooms, getting my books, but most importantly, meeting my wall-sharing dorm buddy, Nick.  It took about 2.325235 seconds to realize that this was a guy I knew would become an important part of college and my life.  Nick is a great friend in the respect that he will drop anything to make sure his friends are okay, and he will push you to reach higher at whatever you are doing.  Nick is one of the few people I have met who’s Badger blood runs as red as mine, and if you ever question this, ask to see his right shoulder!!

Groomsman: Alec Belling

Competition often brings guys together, for better and for worse.  I met Alec on the soccer field during rec league play, and knew instantly this was a guy I wanted in my life as more alec-put-on-site_900-resthan just a teammate.  Alec is an A+ guy.  Enough said.  I always know Alec will be there to help me, whether it is building horseshoe pits in my backyard or kicking some butt on the soccer field.  Alec is also the creator of the famed Guys’ Weekend, and along with Nick and Paul as the original four, these gatherings soon became some of the best weekends we can’t remember!!

Groomsman: Paul Laudolff

Beware of challenges around Paul.  Not him challenging you though…he will rise to ANY challenge you present.  I have lost some pretty significant bets and $100 wagers with this greatSONY DSC guy.  Paul is arguably the most easy going guy I know, but also one of the hardest workers.  I got to know Paul through soccer, and now spend most of the time with him working on side jobs (I do electrical, he does everything else) or hanging out at his within-Appleton-city-limits backyard around the non-enclosed bonfire waiting for the police to make an appearance!!

Groomsman: Timothy De Keyser

Tim is what I would consider a product of a friend with benefits…when I started hanging out with my Appleton guys, I got to meet Tim, a benefit of knowing my current friends.  Sarah and decided a long time ago, Tim is definitely part of our 3-way tie for nicest guy we know.  Tim is also a great family guy, and I often look to him as a role-model for the father figure I hope to be.  I always know if I am able to make it home for even one day, if at all possible, he will find a way to get together.  Some of the best times with Tim have also come at guys’ weekend, whether he is drifting into the middle of the lake trying to get the boat motor started or sleeping in his truck!!

Groomsman: Dustin Slane

I had the privilege of meeting Sarah’s step-brother shortly after we started dating.  It did not take long after this for our primary association to change from Sarah’s step-brotherSONY DSC Dustin, to my friend Dustin.  There are few people who can hold a conversation with such deep insight on virtually every topic.  Dustin is also one of the most talented artists I have ever met, and I am honored that he has been helping us design wedding invitations.  He has also given some of the most creative birthday and Christmas gifts, ranging from incredible machined woodwork family trees to awesome metalworks!!

Ushers

Brent White

Few people we have met are as interesting and dedicated as Brent.  I first met Brent while working for Kaplan, but Sarah and I got to know him much better when medical school started and he and I joined the same class.  Brent is usually a very reserved person, but through our time spent with him, we have had the privilege of getting to know him on a very personal level.  He is the master of coining comical phrases in response to virtual any situation, and such phrases have found their way into conversations of nearly all context.  Brent is currently my roommate, and we are honored to have him and his two feet in our wedding party!!

Ravindra Ganesh

It is not easy to intimidate Sarah or I, but Ravi successfully completed this task when I met him the first day of medical school.  Originally from Jamaica, Ravi had recently moved from college in Florida, and was determined that everyone here was being ‘fake’ nice.  After inviting him out with Sarah and I a few times here and there, and after becoming my lifting partner, Ravi was convinced of the general kindness characteristic of the Midwest.  Ravi has been one our biggest supporters, both in friendship and physical stature, and we are honored to have him in Wisconsin!!  YA MAN, TAKE THAT JAMAICA!!

Joseph Molenda

We had the pleasure of meeting Joe while I was working for Kaplan.  He was one of the brightest, tallest, and most athletic students…but the thing that separates Joe from everyone else is not just the fact he is an ex-Badger footballer, but the fact he is an ex-Badger footballer with a huge heart.  Joe takes care of those that matter most to him, especially his ma and brother, and Sarah and I are happy to be in this group.  No matter what the task, we know that Joe will help us in any way we need it.  Joe has a special way of making us smile, whether at one of our family parties or after a med school dance (Malpractice Ball)!!

Christopher Lesselyoung

Style points.  Chris has always scored huge style points.  I was lucky enough to also meet him playing soccer in high school, and our friendship immediately soared off the field. Chris chris-full-size_900-sizehas impeccable timing, and has always supported us at our most important moments.  He is a dedicated friend in its truest form, and never questions or judges why you need help, rather he just shows up ready to help make the situation better.  We love watching Chris do his thing, whether on the dance floor or talking with the ladies!!

Flower Girls

Sofia Memmel

Sofia is Sarah’s goddaughter and her Bridesmaid Tabetha’s daughter.   She is so inquisitive and sweet…..she asks some of the best questions to come out of a little girl’s mouth!  We know 2010-05-28_003900-resizeshe will do a great job helping Amara down the aisle.  Our wedding day will also be her 8th birthday.  We are happy we will be sharing such an important date with her!!

Amara Collar

Less than a week into 2009, we welcomed Amara into the world, and she became Bob’s first blood-line goddaughter!!  She is the most amazing little girl, who has had her fair share of medical challenges already at such a young age.  Her bubbly personality and adorable smile will surely capture your heart as helps spread flower petals in June!!

Ring Bearer

Andrew Lefeber

Bob met Andrew’s mom (Loni) while volunteering in the ER at Meriter Hospital (she worked there).  Thru that connection, we became very close to the family. Soon afterwards, Loni and her husband (Peter) welcomed Andrew into the world.  We were at the hospital for his birth and the first ones to hold him besides his parents! A few months later, Loni and Peter asked us to be his godparents.  We love our special little guy so much!!  He has SOOO much energy and we know he will do a great job!

Bride’s Personal Attendant

Taylor Laitsch

Taylor is my (Sarah’s) step-cousin.  I had no idea that I was getting such an awesome cousin out of the deal when my mom got remarried in 2002.  Taylor is one of the sweetest girls I taylorknow and is so easy to talk to.  She has great attention to detail and I really value her opinion.  I know she is the perfect person to have by my side on the most important day of my life.
